- Poisons are the substances that can cause severe organ damage or death, if ingested, breathed, injected into the body or absorbed through the skin.1 The word poison was firstly used in 1200 A.D., which means a deadly potion or substance.2 This word was derived from Latin word‘potionem’ (a drinking of drink). Every substance may act as poison and only the dose plays an important role. Aims and objectives: 1) to study the demographic profile of poisoning in the patients admitted in MBGH, Udaipur. 2) To study the incidence of different types of poisoning.
- Gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) is defined as a mechanical impediment to gastric emptying, secondary to complete or partial obstruction of distal stomach, pylorus or proximal duodenum. In contrast to 1970s, when benign diseases were mainly responsible for GOO, malignancy has been the most common cause in recent decades. But there is little data regarding any change over last decade in etiological spectrum of GOO. We therefore conducted this study to find out current trends in etiological spectrum of GOO in India especially in our region.
- Background Bleeding from gastric varices is life-threatening, with significant rebleeding risk despite standard cyanoacrylate glue injection therapy. Our aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)-guided coil embolization with cyanoacrylate injection (Coil +CYA) compared with EUS-guided cyanoacrylate injection alone (CYA) for the treatment of gastric varices.
