The Emergency Medicine Department at MG Hospital has an expert team of ACLS, BLS and ATLS Certified Doctors and supporting staff who specialize in managing different types of emergencies.

Moreover, Advanced Life Support Ambulances are provided by the hospital and they are well-equipped with essential life support systems. A team of highly experienced doctors and trained nurses manage these ambulances, round the clock. Following well-defined protocols and maintaining international standards, this facility is operational 24X7.

The emergency department has a separate access for patients requiring urgent treatment. Provided with a porch the emergency provides a comfortable entry to the ambulances and vehicles of people bringing patients o the hospital.The patients arriving at the hospital are first are classified by triage into priorities.

RED- Patients are taken for immediate stabilisation and intervention like operation/treatment.YELLOW -patients made to wait for stabilisation and managed thereafter accordingly.GREEN- Least priority of patients , who are dealt slowly with care and attention.

  • The facility of 30 beds, emergency OT along with all radio-diagnostic equipment is kept ready 24x7 for patient disposal. Senior Residents are available in the emergency ward for management and resuscitation.
  • The emergency is well equipped for all the items required for managing the airway, breathing, and circulation.
  • Crash cart, intubation kit, cervical collars, spine board, intercostal drainage tubes, and pelvic binders are available for immediate management of life-threatening injuries.
  • Casualty Medical officers and interns Doctors are available 24 hours on all days in the triage area.
  • 24x7 blood bank services are available.
  • Availability of 24x7 Minor OT and plaster rooms for splintage and minor surgical procedures.
