The Medical Oncology Department at MGMCH is a dedicated department for diagnosis, staging, treatment, prevention, research, and education related to cancer. We have successfully assisted treatment of various types of cancer, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, leukaemia, lymphoma, and more. Our Medical oncologists are experts in chemotherapy and immunotherapy. These therapies form the base of a targeted cancer treatment.

Our team aims to focus on targeted therapy with the regular use of monoclonal antibodies and immune checkpoint inhibitors for the treatment of advanced and metastatic tumours. Our team encompasses medical professionals who are experts in surgical oncology, radiation oncology, onco-pathology, diagnostic & interventional radiologists, and more other healthcare professionals.

We also offer palliative care services to help patients manage the symptoms and side effects of cancer and its treatments, improving their quality of life. The department of Medical Oncology has 02 (two) DM Seats per year from the Batch 20-21, approved by NMC. The postgraduate students are trained in various aspects of Oncology. Our department conducts academics activities like Multidisciplinary Tumor Board, Grand Rounds, Faculty Lecture, Journal Club, Soft skill training, Bone Marrow Transplant, Critical Care tumor Board, Molecular Tumor Board, Genetic Clinic, Nurse’s Training programme (Hands-on training/ workshop), Palliative Care services, Outreach activities on regular basis.
