What is Gynecology Department?

  • Pelvic Examination - A thorough physical examination to assess the reproductive organs, including the vagina, cervix, uterus, and ovaries.

  • Laparoscopy - A minimally invasive surgical procedure to examine the abdominal and pelvic organs, often used for conditions like endometriosis or ovarian cysts.
  • Hysterectomy - Surgical removal of the uterus, which can be done via abdominal, vaginal, or laparoscopic approaches.
  • Myomectomy - Surgical removal of uterine fibroids while preserving the uterus.
  • Oophorectomy - Removal of one or both ovaries, often performed in cases of ovarian tumours or severe endometriosis.

  • Endometrial Biopsy - Taking a tissue sample from the lining of the uterus for evaluation of abnormal bleeding or other uterine conditions.
  • Colposcopy - A procedure to closely examine the cervix using a colposcope, often performed after abnormal Pap results.
  • Cryotherapy - Using extreme cold to destroy abnormal tissue on the cervix or other areas.

  • Contraceptive Counselling - Providing information and options for birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
  • Menopausal Management - Addressing symptoms related to menopause, including hormone replacement therapy options.

  • Follow-up Appointments - Monitoring recovery after surgical procedures and addressing any complications or concerns.
